FirstBank's Five Points plan gains support
FirstBank's proposal to pump $3.5 million into a renovation of the historic post office building at downtown Franklin's Five Points has gained serious support from many of the city's aldermen. Kevin Walters writes that the bank's plans to open its fifth Williamson County office there also have some prominent people looking at redeveloping the old county jail on nearby Bridge Street.
“We thought it would be such a success story if the post office were getting redone and the old jail were getting redone,” said Mary Pearce, foundation executive director. “It would be two huge preservation projects.”
