Tayst to close doors at year's end

Jeremy Barlow, the man behind Tayst in Hillsboro Village, said Monday he will close the restaurant's doors after serving a special New Year's Eve dinner. Barlow, who also runs the Sloco deli in 12South, launched Tayst in 2004 and made it Nashville's first certified green restaurant four years later. He says he wants to see more of his wife and two daughters.

“There aren’t enough hours in the week to advocate, expand Sloco, and run a fine dining restaurant — and that leaves zero personal time. I want to see my kids’ soccer games, have board game nights and watch movies, and I need more than one very sleepy night a week to do that,” Barlow said.
