Robert J. Brown, the retired former deputy manager for the U.S. Department of Energy's Oak Ridge Operations Office, has joined Nashville-based engineering firm Barge Waggoner Sumner & Cannon as client manager in the firm's Federal Business Unit.

Brown, who spent 38 years with the Oak Ridge Operations office of the Department of Energy, will work from the firm's Knoxville office and lead business development and client relations with DOE prime and subcontractors.
