The four-state region covering Tennessee, Kentucky, Mississippi and Alabama posted above-average growth last month, according to the latest edition of the Ceridian-UCLA Pulse of Commerce Index, which measures trucking activity. One caveat: Researchers say it's likely shipping was boosted last month in part because it had been delayed by February storms. Nationally, the index was up over the previous year for the 16th straight month.
