What the AT&T/T-Mobile deal means for Tennessee

As part of its planned $39 billion acquisition of rival T-Mobile, wireless provider AT&T Inc. plans to significantly expand the footprint of its 4G LTE network — reaching an additional 46.5 million Americans beyond its current plans, including rural communities and small towns.

Verizon uses LTE for 4G not AT&T and T-Mobile. T-Mobile uses HSPA+
