Popular fast-casual chain Chick-fil-A wants to build a restaurant on the site of a former Regions Bank branch on Harding Road. Its intentions have elicited a variety of reactions from area residents, but the company still has to submit an official zoning variance request for a plan that as of now includes no indoor seating.
Holleman said Chick-fil-A has offered making some accommodations in exchange for the UDO variance, including the elimination of one access point along Woodlawn and the construction of a sidewalk beyond its own property up to The Ensworth School. He also said the restaurant plans to plant a canopy of trees to shield the street’s view from the drive-thru.
