Southeastern HIMSS conference coming to Nashville

Chapters of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society from six states will gather in Nashville in October for the 2010 HIMSS Summit of the Southeast.

The conference —hosted by the chapters of Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee — is expected to draw attendance of more than 500 to the downtown Hilton hotel on October 11 and 12.

"As health care technology continues to play an important role in the changes in the health care system in this country, this summit provides a great opportunity for members of the health care community in the Southeast to learn from each other and discuss industry issues," said Justin Lanning, President of the HIMSS Tennessee Chapter.

It will be interesting to see

It will be interesting to see what the focus of "Obamacare" will be since the rules are still not defined and the majority of healthcare vendors, etc are still guessing at what the current adminstration will or will not do.

Good luck on finding

Good luck on finding reasonably priced parking!! Since the convention center has started, parking has gone up 25% downtown Nashville. This isn't scientific, but something I've seen as I have visited downtown over the last couple weeks.
